Guzzler Work Party

Guzzlers provide water to wildlife across public lands and thanks to years of dedicated local volunteers these guzzlers provided reliable water critical during drought years.  Built for upland birds and big game management these guzzlers also provide clean water for numerous birds, mammals, and even pollinators.

Bishop BLM and Inyo NF invite locals interested in helping with year round guzzler maintenance to attend the guzzler work party Thursday through Sunday, 8am-4pm daily, next week May 3rd-6th.  In-cooperation with Water For Wildlife-East Mojave Desert chapter whose moto is “helping California wildlife one restored guzzler at a time” are offering a “train the trainers” to local leaders to perform all necessary upgrades from grinding to crack chasing, to grouting, to applying the Ames Products as well as routine maintenance.  Locals interested in gaining these specialty skills and dedicated to ongoing guzzler work in the valley are ask to email your availability and contact information immediately to the club President Cliff McDonald @ bigmc@citlink.net who will provide more information.

Volunteers meet daily at 7:30 am at Baker Creek Campground and leave at 8 am sharp, Thursday through Sunday, next week May 3rd-6th
